Where do I start?

If you haven't already, the best place to start is by watching the overview videos. It is a great way to get an overview of what ChurchBuilder can do, and will give you a much clearer idea of what to look at when you login to your own demo site.

If you have already contacted us for a demo and we have sent you this link, then you can login under the "admin" menu. If you are browsing this site for the first time, then do send us an email if you would like to receive your own demo to play with. You can contact us at

Once you have logged in, click the "get superpowers" item on the menu, as this will give you access to all areas of the site. This option is usually reserved for your webmasters as it gives total access. The rest of the site is regulated by the permissions settings allowing you to grant specific access to individuals or groups, for each area.

Take a look at your profile page and also try searching the people database - try searching for first names such as John, Bob, Sandra, or common surnames - Smith, Turner etc.

Have a look at "Groups" and feel free to add/remove/copy/move people around the groups, click on the "quick report" button at the top of each group and see what you can do there. You could even try right clicking on one of the folders on the left of the screen and creating a new group, or click on "security" to see and amend the permissions settings.

Rotas are another area you might like to look at and play with. You can click on the "unset" field to add new members, and right clicking will allow you to do more.

Calendars is worth a good look. Try clicking on a service which will take you into Activity Builder. There you can scroll down to the bottom of the page and build your own service using the "new item" or "template" buttons.

These are just some of the features you might like to look at and play with on your demo site. Don't forget the help videos at the top of each page, accessed by clicking on the question mark button.

And of course, do email us with any questions. Have fun!
